Micron is backing its growth ambitions with a massive $200 billion U.S. investment plan—$150 billion for manufacturing and $50 billion for R&D. These expansions, in Idaho, Virginia, and New York, are aligned with U.S. government efforts to onshore semiconductor production and have already attracted $6.4 billion in CHIPS Act subsidies.

While SK Hynix and Samsung still dominate the HBM market, Micron has increased its share to around 20%, aiming for 22–23% by late 2025. With HBM margins higher than standard DRAM, even small market share gains can have a big impact on profits.
